With the backing measured - formed and sewn together. Time to begin the layering stages with the batting and with the top cloth and backing.
I describe my steps without pictures to view. However found at "week end kits" is a very helpful tutorial on making a baby quilt and with the Tutorial on layering .
Stitch-in-the-ditch
This method- stitch-in-the-ditch is used to seam and sew this quilt. This processes of sewing is machine stitching at the top of each seam & taking about 2 hours to complete.
My next step encounters stitching all four sides and their edges. The overcast stitching method helps to finish and bond the edges. This step shall provide a better foundation when binding is applied and will bond the quilt sides for a smoother surface when sewn .

- Test layout- with the 3 layers to form quilt. The back cloth right side down on a table top with seams facing up the batting is placed on top of the back & smoothing both of the layers out.
- Wash back and quilt top. Once washed & dried time to iron, clip & trim.
- Back & front cloths trimmed and test batting
- Batting is cut in to fit in between the cloths using table top and cutting boards for an even cut. This step took some time and effort to move with desiring straight lines to layer and sew with smooth lines and trimmings .
Once all in order, time to begin with the fun to sew & quilting the cloths together.
Batting sandwiched in between the cloths smoothly.
Once all the seams were sewn and quilted by machine, layers were once again trimmed.

I began sewing at the center with rolling the quilt at each end which helps maneuver the size of a quilt when sewn by machine.
With all seams sewn ,the cloths are now joined together, and quilted along
with the batting in between them , with the 3 layers applied & sewn together.
