Pat's Creative Loft

Summer sure flew by, and the past few months have rather been busy with both the old and new. Pat's Creative Loft cranked out a few new projects designed for family to mark a memorable day & celebrate with a new arrival. And the color themes and shapes are of my favorites.  Nautical Baby Quilt Signature Quilt Needless to say its been quite a busy summer leading into fall and filled with changing favorite colors and shapes!

Working on my Splendid Sampler quilt blocks . Grouping the many blocks into a journal with my progress. The Splendid Sampler:  Simple Surprise Simple Simon  CornFlower Block Name: Double Bees. My block library continues building over the summer. During July ideas of the winter season with a Quilt a long called: Merry Mini Quilt for the Christmas season caught my attention during the summer heat. I've managed to develop the first two blocks from the four that will be revealed during July.  I like the idea of 4 mystery blocks with the idea to complete this mini quilt in a short time.  Once upon a time, and quite some time ago,  I fell for these little beauties that came in a charm pack. My fun with them lead into making 4 patch block units.  Pretty soon I had the top formed and ready to sandwich . And once together, working in some Freemotion Quilt stitches on each unit. The variety of choices among the pre cut squares made for a lot of fun with all the pretty prints And I am loving using the black prints along with the coral & turquoise combined together. I added a black print that had white dots for the sashing, framing, and binding. A 4 Patchwork block made with beautiful prints can become a striking quick lap quilt. This one was simple and with lots of fun, and shall be gifted either as a baby or lap quilt.
